The Tooth Faery

 

 

After re-reading the lyrics of the song in the previous note, I was reminded of a book I read in Auckland, called "the Tooth Fairy"by Graham Joyce. It's the story of a boy who got to see the Fairy when it came to pick up the tooth he had lost. But the fairy wasn't exactly what you'd expect - nasty, blue, dirty, changing from male to female. This fairy pops in and out of his life  at the most important moments, either saving his life or putting him into more trouble - remember that this fairy is nasty !

But most importantly this fairy is in love with him, he who is the only one who can see "her". The whole story revolves around the question of nightmare. Does she exist ? If no-one else can see her, is she trapped in his nightmare, or is he part of her nightmare ?
